Lorenna's Expertise
Lorenna Buck is a Managing Director at Ariel Alternatives, LLC and serves on the firm’s Investment Committee. Formerly, Lorenna was a Managing Director and Partner at Boston Consulting Group leading the Sustainable Investing agenda for the Private Equity Practice, inclusive of ESG and DE&I. In that role, she worked closely with private equity investors and portfolio companies across a variety of industries and growth stages, supporting close to 100 growth strategy, market study and due diligence projects. She also contributed to the establishment of the ESG Data Convergence Initiative. Within BCG, Lorenna was a leader in the Black + Latinx network and Racial Equity Task Force, and guided the growth of BCG Spark, a pro bono accelerator which supports minority businesses across the United States.
Prior to BCG, Lorenna worked in R&D Strategic Intelligence at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals and sat on the board of the Harvard/MIT COOP. Lorenna currently sits on the boards of the United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Flare Education.
Lorenna holds a PhD in Biological Engineering from MIT, where she served on several institute committees. She earned her BS in Biomedical and Electrical Engineering from Duke University.
