Erica Royal is an Analyst at Ariel Alternatives, LLC, where she supports the investment team with deal sourcing and execution, portfolio management, demand aggregation, fundraising, and Impact and ESG activities. Erica is passionate about creating access opportunities for historically underrepresented groups via the execution of the Project Black mandate.
Before joining Ariel, Erica worked for The Carlyle Group, an US based private equity firm where she held roles in Portfolio Management and Corporate Development. During her time at Carlyle, she focused on the management of the financial services and long dated strategy funds in portfolio management and worked on inorganic and organic growth strategy during her time in Corporate Development.
Erica is a graduate of James Madison University with a BBA in Finance and minors in Spanish and Chinese. She lives in New York City and maintains involvement with the Washington Performing Arts junior board and the Ole School mentorship program for students of color and is a member of the JMU College of Business Board of Advisors.
