Akilah's Expertise

Akilah supports the investment team with deal sourcing and execution, demand aggregation, portfolio management, fundraising, and impact and ESG activities. Before joining Ariel, Akilah worked as a senior associate in the equity capital markets group at Evercore where she supported healthcare clients with the origination and execution of equity and equity-linked offerings. Prior to Evercore, Akilah worked as an investment banking associate in the global healthcare group at Barclays, advising leading healthcare businesses across all verticals. Akilah started her career in finance at JPMorgan Chase where she served as a private client banker. In that role, Akilah managed the relationships of the firm’s affluent clients and supported their banking, investing and lending needs. Akilah has also worked in politics, most notably serving as a deputy regional field director for the 2008 Barack Obama presidential campaign. Akilah holds a BA in political science from Stanford University and an MBA in investment banking/fintech from Cornell University.
